Practically everyone needs a headshot in this day and age. Networking and sites like Linkedin have increased professional socializing and aids so many people in getting a job. What you don’t want on those profiles are low resolution, outdated, poorly lit images of yourself. People need to be able to go to your profile or view your resume and see exactly who you are. Additionally, an outdated blurry headshot can be suggestive of not being up to date with technically which could be a disqualifying quality for some people.
I personally believe that a headshot is useless if it doesn’t communicate who you are. A good headshot can and will be the difference in being hired. Take a realtor for example. In this day and age, most successful businesses have significant social media presence which is a gateway for people to get to know them and what they provide. An image of a person can communicate so much and can elicit emotion of the type of person they are. The pose, the look on the face, the clothing, if they have make up on, messy hair, ect it all says something about who they are.
This matters to me so much because I believe having amazing images of yourself matters. Loving who you are and how you look matters. While living in the Washington D.C. area, I worked with an amazingly talented image consultant. An image consultant is someone who helps someone with their personal, social and professional image and helps them to dress authentically themselves so they are always communicating who they are. She was so incredibly talented at what she did, she most literally changed so many women's lives. I've seen first hand what can happen when someone is confident, comfortable, and happy with themselves and their appearance. I truly believe that it can be life changing and lead to success.
Headshots are not a take one picture and done type thing. Lighting needs to be moved multiple times, backdrops switched out and outfits changed. The additional time together also gives us the opportunity to get to know each other better so I know more about you. I always recommend bringing at least 2 outfits, so you have two different looks as well. Giving you more of a variety in selection gives you the ability to pick which one you feel is most authentically you. Also, sometimes certain colors with the different backdrops look better than some. I am here to help you figure out what to wear, how to accessorize and have referrals for hair and makeup artists as well.
I want to ensure I capture your best side and provide you with images that authentically communicate who you are. I offer 3 different packages and am also available for travel to meet whatever needs you may have.
