Family photos aren't just for families with young kiddos, it's important to update your family photos every couple of years. Especially since it's always good to have updated pictures of all of you hanging on the walls in your home. This family was really special because the parents have been divorced but came together for one big picture all together. I always try to be cognizant of all family relationships so I don't make anyone feel uncomfortable in the photos. I once shot a wedding where I wasn't informed before had of a negative relationship between the grooms parents. I asked them to stand closer together and even stood them by each other not knowing they didn't like each other. So, they have a very awkward picture of the family with a 2 ft gap between the parents.
Since the family dynamic was mom and dad separate I wanted to make sure each parent got all the same pictures with their daughters. One of my favorite pictures to get is asking kiddos to give kisses on the cheeks. Personally, I think this is a timeless and cute photo no matter the age of the kids. Parents always get a kick out of it too.
Ronisha came in wanting a simple backdrop to celebrate her birthday. We kept the backdrop simple but changed up all the posing. This is one of my favorite ways to help women get in touch with their inner beauty.
