I never thought I would become a newborn photographer. After I had my first daughter I attempted to take her newborn pictures. After about 5 minutes she had pooped and peed all over the place and cried for the entire time. I vowed after that I would never take newborn photos. Until, my best friend and doula Paige convinced me to let her pose one of her clients babies and I take all the photos. Little did I know this was the start of something so much more.
Eventually after 4 or 5 babies, I decided to jump into posing myself and just fell in love. Paige and I then endeavored on a series of newborn photoshoots on the beach. While the beach is one of the literal worst locations for newborn photos, it provides the most beautiful backdrop. There are an unlimited amount of obstacles that come with outdoor newborn photography. The elements are uncontrollable, lighting is unpredictable, and soothing baby can be considerably difficult. But once you get the hang of it, outdoor beach newborn photos are manageable.
While I absolutely love my studio space, I do occasionally find myself missing the beach for newborn photos. Luckily for my sanity, I am no where near a beach or in tropical paradise. I have invested so much time and money into my new studio space and I am so excited to start photographing newborns here in Texas.
Please enjoy my favorite images from all the beach babies I photographed.
Ronisha came in wanting a simple backdrop to celebrate her birthday. We kept the backdrop simple but changed up all the posing. This is one of my favorite ways to help women get in touch with their inner beauty.
