Everything in my studio is very versatile and portable. Obviously, I can't take my whole studio space with me to someones house but I can bring a select number of props, drops and wraps to someones house to photograph their newborn. My lighting and posing equipment also is portable, so as long as a home has the adequate space, which isn't much, in home studio inspired photos are more than possible.
When photographing a newborn in someone's home, often times there is a mix of posed and lifestyle photos taken. Most individuals opt for the family picture portion to take place on a bed or sometimes on a couch, but it's always up to parents preference. The great thing about this particular photoshoot is that she had a big brother who was able to play while I took my time to photograph her in different poses and outfits. Since he was under 3, he can only focusing on taking pictures for a few minutes at a time, and he did phenomenal.
Ronisha came in wanting a simple backdrop to celebrate her birthday. We kept the backdrop simple but changed up all the posing. This is one of my favorite ways to help women get in touch with their inner beauty.
